Caitlyn Francis, RN
I graduated from Purdue University in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. I have spent the past 15 years working as a Registered Nurse in a pediatric oncology and hematology unit at a research hospital in Chicago. While my main focus has been bedside care, this experience exposed me to all aspects of patients’ conditions, and I began to develop an interest in mental health. I believe treating the whole body and mind is crucial to the success of a patient, and as a society we can and need to do better when it comes to mental health. It is important people are aware of the resources available to them. As a nurse a big part of my job is to educate and advocate for my patients. Working alongside Dr. Dawe I look forward to supporting and educating our patients. My goal is to help patients understand what their treatment options are and what resources are available to help support them. By empowering patients with knowledge I hope that they will feel confident when working together to determine a successful plan of care.
